evan mitchell hails from the small town of bar harbor, maine, as the oldest child alongside his younger sister and their single mother. he grew up in a struggling household, as his mother was an underpaid waitress with no other source of income. being that he was much older than his sister, evan took it upon himself to help his struggling mother — starting with lemonade stands then advancing to multiple minimum-wage jobs as a teenager. he never minded helping, however it greatly affected his childhood. evan always had great aspirations when he was younger. he dreamt of going to a prestigious university in a big city where he can study journalism and live a life completely opposite of his own. however, jobs often collided with schoolwork and personal interests, and by the time he was a senior, he was left with low grades and little to no passion in life. eventually evan grew tired of living a life he didn't consider his own and decided to change his direction. the night he graduated, evan pulled out all the money he had saved up his entire life and gave it to his mother. he then packed two duffle bags only filled with items he deemed important, took his car and left town with only $900 in his pocket. since then, evan has been travelling throughout the united states as well as other countries, experiencing all kinds of ways of living. for the first time in a long time, he felt inspired and full of childlike wonder. he picked up several hobbies as he went such as film and photography, music producing, and learning new languages. he finally felt like he was the person he was meant to be. oftentimes he'll spend a few weeks or longer in his destination, but never stays. consider him to be a nomad. evan makes his money through photography and working temporary jobs wherever he is, and often stays in hostels or hotels — sometimes his own car. his lifestyle is very fluid, and he enjoys it, however he still continues to search for a place where he can stay for good. he is currently residing in kildare, a town he wasn't necessarily seeking but fell in love with. it's only been four weeks since his arrival, but he plans to stay awhile longer.

evan is a very kind-hearted and caring person. he prides himself in being able to empathize with almost anybody, and goes out of his way to help whoever needs it – even if they're a stranger. he considers himself an optimist and tries to see everything under a positive light, however this doesn't mean he isn't able to notice when a situation is bad. despite evan usually being ( or at least trying to be ) a "ray of light", his initial impression could be completely different. although he is extremely friendly, he hates revealing himself to others. it usually takes awhile for him to actually open up. like everyone else, evan can also be a bit selfish. his current mission in life is to live the way he wants to, meaning sometimes the decisions he makes can come off as a bit rash and impulsive— however, all in all, he is filled with good intentions.
